Double Bathroom Remodel During a Pandemic

When the Coronavirus Pandemic hit our state, we were in the middle of several projects. Construction was deemed an essential business, so with extra safety precautions in place guided by the CDC, and with permission from our clients and our subs, we continued to work to finish up with the projects. We were surprised to continue to get calls from people wanting us to do work despite the pandemic. Jobs did slow down a little, but not by much. We continued to stay busy, with homeowners and workers willing to work with added safety measures in place, such as staggering workers, wearing face masks on site, extra vigilant and more frequent hand washing, sanitizing tools and work spaces, and keeping at least a 6′ distance from others. The best scenario is when the home is vacant, such as this double bathroom renovation in Grant, MN. Our clients had recently purchased a home but were not moved in yet, giving us time to renovate their bathrooms prior to moving in.

Both bathrooms had little corner showers that had sub-par tile work and shoddy workmanship overall. We eliminated the showers in both bathrooms, replacing them with built-in linen cabinets. In the guest bathroom we added a combination tub with tiled shower, new tiled floor with radiant heat, new vanity, new Cambria quartz countertop, paint, and lighting.

We were able to keep many of the main floor bathroom features in place, such as the tiled floor, vanity and quartz top, mirror and vanity lights. In place of the tiny, useless shower, we built a linen cabinet and adjacent to that, built a new custom tiled shower that is much more functional. With two brand new bathrooms functioning to their fullest potential, these happy homeowners are ready to move in!
